SIMO LAKATOS BARNA

As an adopted child, Tamara's idea immediately struck me to the heart. As I read letters from children who grew up in the system, the outlines of the film quickly appeared before my inner eye. This is how we descended into this earthly hellhole, and the world of state care in Hungary unfolded before us. The streets, slums, refugee camps, and Roma settlements are not foreign to me, yet I still felt a lump in my throat at the end of the shooting days. I am grateful to the amazing crew for bringing my initial vision to the screen almost without change. I thank the heavens that I could be a tool in presenting this small snapshot, in transmitting the cry for help. I have no illusions, and can only hope that our film, even if it is a small effort, can still help the children and social workers in some way,

LABOVSZKY TAMARA

As a social worker in child protection, I feel it is my duty to show the current state of the social profession in Hungary. What kind of system children are placed into when they are at risk in their families. No one can explain this more authentically than those children who have lived and grown up in the social system. This is how the idea for the documentary film was born in me. I am responsible for those children who are entrusted to the state's care. For those who were fortunate enough to end up in a good place, and for those whose safe, happy childhood was taken from them. Traumas cannot be undone. Thousands of children grow up without love, understanding, and support.
This is what the social profession, and every Hungarian adult, must face, because our future lives in our children.

SZIGETHY ESZTER

As a mother, the filming deeply touched me. Confronting the pain and desires of the children living in the child protection system was moving. At the same time, it made me realize that every child is just a child, no matter the circumstances in which they grow up, because every child longs for love, security, and understanding. What we tried to help with was giving a voice to those who don't have one, allowing those who are not listened to to be heard.
We aimed to present their stories sensitively and with respect.

It is not we who matter in this film. It is the suffering children, the lost fates, the broken social workers. It is the lives that are crushed beneath the ruins of the social system. We are but witnesses, documenting the catastrophe...
